Which GLP-1 medication are you on, or thinking about?

This is an educational estimate. Figures are population means from randomized trials and will differ for any individual based on dose, adherence, diet, activity, and physiology. It is not a prediction, a guarantee, or medical advice. Talk to a licensed clinician before starting or changing any medication.

Ozempic and Wegovy are the same molecule on different labels, and Ozempic vs Wegovy shows where their doses and approved uses differ. To compare it with tirzepatide, see Mounjaro vs Ozempic.

Enter your weight and height, then pick a medication and dose. The tool takes the average weight loss measured in that drug's main clinical trial: STEP-1 for semaglutide, SURMOUNT-1 for tirzepatide. It maps that trial figure onto your starting weight, plotting your projected weight and BMI week by week. The numbers come straight from the published trials, not a generic calorie formula.

This calculator uses STEP-1, a trial of semaglutide 2.4 mg for weight, which is the Wegovy dose. Ozempic is the same molecule. Its label covers type 2 diabetes and tops out at 2 mg a week. An Ozempic result can differ from this estimate.

Percent of body weight lost by week on Wegovy 2.4 mg. Dose steps from the FDA label: 0.25 mg to start, 0.5 mg after 4 weeks, 1 mg after 8 weeks, 1.7 mg after 12 weeks, then 2.4 mg after 16 weeks. Those are the label's weeks for each step. Your prescriber sets the pace. The trial measured people at week 68 (STEP-1). The curve before it is our estimate. What STEP-1 found

STEP-1 gave 1,961 adults with obesity, or overweight with a weight-related condition, and no diabetes, weekly semaglutide 2.4 mg or placebo for 68 weeks, with lifestyle support. Mean weight change was −14.9% against −2.4% on placebo, or −15.3 kg against −2.6 kg.

How much weight will I lose in 4 months on Ozempic?

No published figure answers this for month 4. STEP-1 reported weight at week 68. It tested semaglutide 2.4 mg, the Wegovy dose. The Ozempic label has its own schedule, starting at 0.25 mg once weekly for 4 weeks, and a maximum recommended dosage of 2 mg once weekly. The calculator's curve before week 68 is our model of how the trial average builds, not a measured value. Enter your weight above and read week 16 off the chart.

What is the average first month weight loss on Ozempic?

Neither STEP-1's published results nor the Ozempic label give a first-month average. The Ozempic label starts at 0.25 mg once weekly for 4 weeks and then raises the dosage to 0.5 mg once weekly. That label covers type 2 diabetes, and STEP-1 tested 2.4 mg, the Wegovy dose.

Can you lose 20 pounds in 2 months on Ozempic?

Twenty pounds in two months is about 2.3 pounds a week. The CDC says people who lose weight at a gradual, steady pace of about 1 to 2 pounds a week are more likely to keep it off. STEP-1 reports an average at week 68, not at two months. Enter your weight above to see where the modeled curve sits at week 8.

What is a healthy amount of weight to lose per week on Ozempic?

The CDC describes about 1 to 2 pounds a week as a gradual, steady pace, and says people who lose at that pace are more likely to keep the weight off. STEP-1 reports an average at week 68, not a weekly target. Your prescriber is the one to judge your own pace.
